National History Day Rulebook: https://www.nhd.org/sites/default/files/Contest-Rule-Book.pdf
- Students are expected to conduct themselves, both in person and online, in a manner that brings credit to themselves, their schools, and the affiliates they represent.
- Chaperones are responsible for the behavior of the students in their charge.
- National History Day is concerned not only for the safety and well-being of students, but also for upholding the interests of parents/guardians, teachers, school principals, and the many supporters who have a vested interest in the students' actions, conduct, and participation.
- As guests at Northwest Missouri State University, you are expected to abide by the same rules the University has established for its students.
Students: Contact your teacher for additional information.
Teachers: Contact the regional coordinator for additional information.
About This Contest
Northwest Missouri State University and the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences sponsor this regional contest. We welcome you to the Northwest campus and wish you the best of luck in your historical pursuits on contest day.
What to Expect During the Contest
8:00-8:45 Arrival & Registration
9:00-12:00 Judging (all entries in Ballroom must be dismantled and removed from that space by 12pm, after judging)
1:00-1:30 Awards Ceremony
Student Lunch: For lunch, students are welcome to visit the Bearcat Commons (lower level of the Student Union) where there are several options for a tasty meal. This location offers a Mediterranean kitchen with pizza and pasta dishes, a sandwich deli and salad bar, an all-American grill, Tex Mex cuisine, and a dessert selection. On the main level of the Union is the Jones which has a Chick-fil-A, Einstein Brothers Bagels, and Japanese-inspired Zen. $10 should be plenty for each of your students. Your students are, of course, welcome to bring their own lunch, too. They can eat downstairs in the Union, or they can bring food back up to the 3rd floor Board Room and eat there.
